Weather, Work, and Whooo-Whooo

The words Embrace Change written in script with a butterfly sitting on the C in change.

Hello, hello!

Today is Wednesday, August 21st, 2024
…the second day after my resignation.
Day 234 of 2024 & 32 days until autumn begins.

Today’s weather is absolutely amazing!

I wouldn’t have believed it, but today’s weather is even better than yesterday’s. Right now, at 2:29p, it’s 71°F, with a low of 50° expected tonight. Tomorrow’s forecast? 76°/52°. Whooot, to the ooot, ooot, ooot!

Tah-day, I have a meeting with Genn about a side-gig that’s a bit of a passion project—providing sweetness and tender care for end-of-life furry-babes.

Total Brain Dump + Tah-Do’s

This is where I jot down random tasks and thoughts as they pop into my mind—things that might already be in my planner or on a list, but if it pops up while I’m writing, it gets jotted down here.

My brain on organizing time and schedules is pretty amazing. I have great systems in place for time-management, and they work well—as long as there isn’t a time-thief stressor in the mix. Unfortunately, the side-gig I just left had become a bit of a stressor, through no fault of its own.

This website was created because we had too many separate sites with separate needs, separate WordPress themes, and separate niches. It was too much work! Now, this site is a non-niche hub where you can click on a tab or link for all the information you’re seeking.

Piggie Love

The Piggie Teeds are awesome, but guinea pigs are a lot of work! I love them, so it doesn’t feel like work, but some people think they’re low-maintenance, there-when-I-want-cuteness pets. Nope! They require constant care.

24/7: Fresh hay, more hay, just add another pinch of hay, pellets, and water. Did I mention fresh hay, all day?

I really like this brand of hay—it’s delivered in a recyclable box, the hay is easy to pull out, the pieces are longer, and the bottom isn’t filled with a bunch of dried parsley-looking “shake.” Plus, the piggies love it.

I can leave them for a few hours without worry, but first—change their bed linens, add a bit more hay, and leave a mountain of fresh veggies before I go. On my way back, I usually stop for fresh veggies, and giving them veggies is the first thing I do when I get home.

Piggies are great, but here in the U.S., they aren’t super popular pets, so people don’t always know how to care for them properly. I hope these daily posts will help educate future loving, diligent piggie owners.

Whooo-Whooo Stuff

The full moon was gorgeous last evening! Did you see it?! It looked fake.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, it was the Full Sturgeon Supermoon—the first Supermoon this year, and it was a Blue Moon.

The name Sturgeon Moon comes from the giant lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain; this native freshwater fish was readily caught during this part of summer and was an important food staple for Native Americans in the region.

A Blue Moon refers to two full Moons in a single month. We call the first Moon by its traditional name (Sturgeon Moon for August) and the second full Moon a Blue Moon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday,
